Carnut, I think it may be an anti-Google Image Search tip :)

From the rulebook: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=6857.0

The following picture modifications are not OK, and are considered by consensus to be unacceptable and unsportsmanlike.

1.   Replace design elements from one vehicle with those of another (wheels, grille, etc.)
2.   Photoshop modifications that change the basic configuration of a car (change a coupe to a roadster; make a Tyrelll  P34 a four-wheeled car, etc).
3.   Photoshop modifications that place a vehicle in an incorrect time or place.
4.   Reversing a picture to make an LHD vehicle appear RHD, or vice-versa

As the poster in this case wasn't trying to pass the car off as being driven from the 'wrong' side (in my opinion) I suspect faska is correct.

Nevertheless, duty compels me to remind pftnbr to read the rules, and comply with same.

faska? :P

In this case it was not indended as a way to take the real appearance of the car away, as it was obvious that the picture was mirrored.

Yes, I was going to say the same thing.
As it was so obvious, there was clearly no attempt to make it appear to be something it wasn't.
It's actually so easy to reverse an image that I don't think it would deter the Search by Image users, who could easily reverse it back again for their heinous activities!

.... in suggesting this was an anti-google trick, versus an attempt to fool the people guessing at the puzzle.

Maybe somebody would like to be an admin

Sheesh.... :-\

And now for "the REST of the story."  (That's a quote from an American radio personality.)

It was built in 1985 by Spice Engineering and CC Racing Developments in Kirbymooreside, England to Group C regulations for David Jolliffe.  In 1986 it was entered in the FIA Group C World Championship with Tiff Needell and Mauro Baldi as drivers.  Unipart's high-performance oil was the only sponsor to be found and the money ran out before the car was fully sorted and competitive.

That comes from a web source, so take it with a grain of salt as far as 100 percent accuracy, but I think it's pretty close.
