I thought it might be appropriate to add this,
This is through research of the Harris fwd Speedster;

Barbara Buerhig told me that her father, Gordon, was literally directed from Cord and other Chiefs at ACD to participate in the race cars pitside and in all other means.

I have not been to the ACD museum, even though we have exchanged documents of Ben and Gordon, and in my research/reading, have not read about ACD employess being directed to participate.

Just wanted to add what I knew about the subject for histories sake !!!!!

It would not surprise me thusly, if it is one of the ACD cars ?

I would say that it is probably around 1932, to narrow it down a little further.

Do not consider this a guess, as I know the puzzle is locked for Wendax.

Wendax

Are we looking for Lucien Bollack?

Not the name I'm looking for. Open to all again.

Motorcar1 - I'm happy to be corrected because my source is a little sketchy and I really don't have many details, but I'm not aware that there is any 'official' ACD involvement in this car. It is to the best of my knowledge an Auburn chassis/engine set-up that has been rebodied by a private individual in France some time in the '30s...

Barretts,
I always believe in putting back and helping others that have helped me.

If you find out that it was a factory chassis/body that was sent to France, please let me know, as I will pass the info, which I would doubt they have, to the ACD people.

They are always working on filling gaps of the whereabouts of any ACD automobile, gone forever or not.
Cooool car, which reminds me of some of the Auto Union cars of the era.

D-type

Lights and no mudguards suggesting a long distance racer.  Not Le Mans - did it race in the Bol d'Or at Montlhery?

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Esgaz Bigata V12 ,6,4 L ( ex Auburn ) by Georges Bigata in 40's for promotion of gaseous fuels ?

Well, that certainly looks like the same car! That's not the information I have though I am inclined to believe you are correct. My source is quite shaky about the true identity of the car - just the builder's name and engine (Auburn). I wonder if the Ezgaz is a later evolution of the car? Any more information you have about it would be welcome....

Well, that last photo of the front confirms it's definitely the same car so I'm awarding you a point and calling this solved. Well done!

It is great new indeed that this one is solved. However, in keeping with AutoPuzzles tradition I'm moving it from the News thread to the Solved Puzzles thread.  ;)
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!
