So the car is Italian, but not Italian-based?

Looking at its stance it could be Frisky-based?

Friends, I think the information has been a little misleading! Innocenti is 100% an Italian company, manufacturing cars in Italy.
It's not correct to say that the Innocenti 950 is an English-based car.
Otherwise Seat would be Italian and now Lamborghini German...

To clarify from my angle:  When I read "BMC-based" I immediately thought of Innocenti.  I knew they had the same motors (more or less) I had in my Bugeye Sprite eons ago.  It wasn't misleading to me, but rather clarifying.

I don't wanna step on anyone's toes, but I figured I'd explain the way it came across to me.

RtR

ps...here's a shot of my overly-well funded  ::) Sprite at full chat, just before a rod went thru the side of the block.  I seem to do stuff like that to race cars.  Hmmm.....

That 'Austin' badge is completely non-standard to this car and has been added by some Anglophile at a later date!

I'm not sure why anyone would add an Austin badge to an Innocenti, surely one of the great pleasures of owning a car like that would be the utter confusion it would cause to 95% of British car enthusiasts... Or maybe that's just me?

This car was actually Tom Tjaarda's first ever car to be made.  It was a collaborative effort with Sergio Sartorelli and Sergio Coggiola done at Ghia when he was only 19!
