1 point for the identification of this machine, its builder and date:

This trike was built by Frank Mayes from Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1948.

That's right.
It was FWD and rear-wheel steer.
Apparently Frank took out a patent on the design in 1948, although I can't for the life of me think why anyone else would want to copy it... Sounds lethal to me!

Found it again. And, according to this caption it is not rear-steer.
