In essence, yes, but I'm afraid that I have the car under another name which I need before I can hand out the point.

Also, a warm welcome! Looks like you're cleaning up the rookie section very nicely. Good choice on the Samurai as avatar also.  :)

Thank you very much!

Sergio Scaglietti called it for its great performance "The Bomb". Is that the missing name you were wating for?

Not what I was after, no. There's an actual model name (according to my source) to this car, rather than 'Prototipo'.

Having done further research it really seems like there's only 1 or 2 links with the name I was after, and a lot more with the name you provided, so I'll accept it. :)

The name I was after was Scocca Matte - http://www.looksmartmodels.com/eng/prods/look.asp?Rif=ls102

There is conflicting information about this one.  It was sold at auction for $110,000 in 2007 as a "1984 Ferrari 412 Prototipo Scaglietti".  It is constructed of fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar.

( Which makes this a duplicate puzzle...  http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=4833.0 )

It was sold on David Gooding Auction in 2007. And I don't know how to call this car. (Ferrari F116 by Pininfarina = Ferrari 412 Scocca Matta?) ???

Alright,

Even though the auction-car photo differs in some details, I'll defer to those who likely do know better. A second point to sixtee5cuda, and a merge.
