For one point, provide the year, make, model, and engine type of this unique car.

Stop me if you've heard this one...

I would have sworn we had this before. Further, I was sure I had posted it. I must be losing my marbles.

If it ever gets percolated up, I can solve it quickly.  8)

I believe this is a GM Show Car, a Pontiac Tempest "Monte Carlo".
If so, two were made, the quiz car and a much milder version with a standard windshield.
I think the quiz car was in the 1962 show and the other in the 1961 show but I could have the years reversed.
The engine was an inline 4 cylinder with a Mickey Thompson supercharger fitted.

If all of this is correct, apologies to Otto.  It's that Time Zone thingie.
Cheers
Bill

Bill Murray gets a point for the correct answer.

The information I have seen on the car, indicates there was only one.  After the car was shown in this form for 1961, it was given a conventional windshield and an aluminum V8.  After the 1962 Auto Show season, it was driven by the family of Ed Cole.

Thanks for the correction/clarification.  I did some more looking and found Mr. Cole asked for the modifications to be able to drive the car on the street so to say and that he and his family did for many years.

In my opinion, the modified car is much better looking as you can see here.

Cheers
Bill
