Solved - MJW #950 - Victoria-Climax 1957
« on: July 24, 2012, 05:59:19 PM »
Here's a new #950 - the last one was a repost - Frank Cuttell's Gipsy Fiat.

Identify the make, what engine it used and the year.....

It is Coventry Climax powered but it's not an Elva and the year is slightly out.

1956 Willment-Climax
Not a Willment-Climax and you're now two years adrift  ;)

So, it must be 1954 which suggests a Kieft-Climax

Maths:
1958 - Year slightly out
1956 - two years out.  Can't be1958 so it must be 1954
1954 - three years out

 ??? ??? ???

Is it 1957?
Is it the Victoria-Climax  (try googling that!)

1957 it is - sorry for not being able to add/subtract 1, 2 or 3 - back to school for me!
Yes, it is the Victoria-Climax (thankfully I haven't needed to google that!) seen with Cedric Brierley at the wheel at Silverstone. Another point for you.
