Quite a lot! I hadn't noticed this before on the top photo, but they all look like they mean business except the man in the middle.

Is it actually the pre-Great War period it looks like, or is it a modern reconstruction?
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

No, not Aspendale. Although, I'm impressed you know of Aspendale.

The photo was taken in Melbourne, Richmond actually.

The barbed wire is interesting.

Eight men posing beside a Mercedes racing car, numbered 8 on the bonnet. Members of a racing team, wearing goggles and sweaters with logos, in a back yard with a security fence of 5 strands of barbed wire.
Gift of Mr Harold Paynting, 1995
Photo was taken between 1903 and 1918 and was taken by Darge, Algernon

Yes, that's all correct. It's a Mercedes, but if you tell me what year it is and the hp, I'll give you a point. LOCKED for you, of course.

Thanks for the lock. I'd say 1911 and for the horsepower, it looks small, so how about 55?

I'll have to get back to you on the year, the hp is much more.

Slightly less (<100). I originally thought the car was made in 1913, but that was just when the photo was taken, and now realise that the car could even date back to 1904. If you just tell me the horsepower, I'll award the point.

No, closer to 100, and a round figure.

90hp it is. Another point for you. I do know that Mercedes made a few 90hp racing cars, and that this is one of them. Although I'm not sure of the year it was made.
