I've photographed this car.  The builder (Del Friedli) calls it a 1936 Buick Wildcat Roadster.  It's a completely hand-built car with 2 Buick 215 CID V8 motors.  (The builder changes the displacement listing just about every time he shows it...in 2010 it was 460, in 2011 it was 475.) The amazing thing is that the builder only has one arm.

I hope it's ok to include my own photos.

Not much more info, but there are other photos on the website listed in my profile.  Look under "Cruisin and Car Shows."  Then select 2010 or 2011 and then look for the shows "Cache Valley Cruise-In."  There are photos  of the car in both collections.

The car's pretty much as I described it:  hand-built, with a pair of Buick 215 V8s (coupled crank-to-crank) and a Borg-Warner T-5 transmission behind 'em.  I hope he never gets on the power hard, because that transmission won't take the kind of torque that one would expect from that motor combination.  The cluster gear will be instant junk.  Trust me.  I know this.   :yuck:

I've added a shot of the car show's entry card and a shot of the very nicely done engine-turned dash.  I can't do work like that and I have 2 arms.  I stand in awe at the builder's skill although I never met him.  It's almost impossible to find anyone there.  That show is one of the largest in what's called the "Intermountain West" of the USA.  It's also one of the very WORST.  But I've decided that I'm shot my last show there.  I've covered it since 2002 and entered a couple of times.  For some reason, that show seems to bring out the rudest behavior in people.  I don't know why.  It also has some of the worst lighting with variegation due to partial shade from the trees: it's held in a park area of a county fair grounds.

I hope that when that show's date comes around this year, I'm shooting testing of the Target 550 streamliner or the North American Eagle jet LSR vehicle.  If not, I'll stay home and work on my race car.  :)

Here are the photos:

Thank you Ray.
I had to delete your links, because they are not allowed here...You can send a PM when you want to share a source.
I saw that is your website, you can even post the link in your profile and it will be shown at the bottom of each of your posts.

I hope you'll post more pics of these cars, they are not my usual field and I'm always happy to know more about.

My apologies.  Since there was no statement that links aren't allowed in the "Solved Puzzles" subforum, I made the assumption that they were allowed.  Taking it a little further, I DID read the posting guidelines and reasoned that since the ban on links was to avoid compromising puzzle-solving sources, inclusion of an post-facto link wouldn't fall into that category.

It also states: "Some members may notice that the puzzle poster may, from time to time, include a “photo credit” link under a puzzle picture, after the puzzle is solved. This is done when the puzzle picture is clearly copyrighted, or when the source site – often a “Friends of AutoPuzzles” listed site – has granted permission to use their content, in return for a photo credit."  My photos ARE copyrighted and most of them are watermarked with the copyright info.  I didn't do that with the last 2 images on this post, just because I got lazy.

Based on those concepts, I added the links to the page within the year and show section where the photos can be found, since there's quite a bit more navigation required to get there from the main page.

I'll make a mental note that even though it's not explicitly stated, links are apparently not allowed in the "Solved Puzzles" subforum.

Best regards,

RtR
