The Lower Colorado River Authority purchased this "Electric Shopper" in 1968. It went on tour to many southern cities touting the virtues of the electric car. Unfortunately, then as now, problems of speed (max 25 mph) and range (max 50 miles) meant the little car had to be trailered from city to city.  The car itself appears to be a slightly modified Marketeer 1, made by Westinghouse. The gentlemen pictured appear to be principals of the LCRA. The little car was around for quite a while, even being repainted and brought out again in 1976 for the Bicentennial .
