That looks very much like Roald Dahl.
I do remember a story in 'Boy' about a ride in a motor car with his family when he was a very young lad. His step sister drove but crashed it and young Roald's nose was just about cut off. I'd have to look up the book to find the car's make, but a wild guess would be a Morris Bullnose, not just because of its name!

That's not the one I have in mind. I'm looking for a car in one of his fictional works.

Hang on, how about the car that was the stake of the bet in 'The Man from the South'? It was an XJ Jaguar in the 'Tales from the Unexpected' television series but I recall it being a Cadillac in the book.

Nothing as fancy as a Jag or a Caddie. Not a BMW, either

Wrong car, and not from My Uncle Oswald.

The person driving the car I'm looking for is named in the title of the book.

Mister Fox, I reckon. But I can't remember what kind of car he drove. My guess would be an Austin A35.
I can't think of any other cars that are noteworthy in Dahl's stories.

Let's try Danny (Danny, the Champion of the World) and the Austin 7 he drives to Hazell's Wood.
