My original thoughts were:

Studebaker Excalibur
Mercebaker
Excalibur Series 1

Unfortunately, these cars all have chrome exhaust pipes coming out of both sides of the hood.  And the suspension of this car is different.  The early Excaliburs have a curved upper A-arm in the front suspension, whereas the A-arm on this car is flat.

The script in the grill did look like "Excalibur", and the words near the windshield seem to end with SS, like any proper replica of a 1927 Mercedes Benz SS.

I have it as a Guitolar Torrelaro, a replica of the Mercedes SSK, build in Uruguay by the brothers Horacio and Guillermo Torrendell. I don't know the exact year, but it should be somewhere in the '90's ... They also made the Guitolar Charrua an the Guitolar Indio.

I thought I had that one, it looked exactly the same. Then again, it's a replica, so it should look the same ... :)

Anyway, the only German SSK-replica I have in the 'archives' is the Legatti Caracciola from the '80's, but I haven't got a picture of that one (yet), so I don't know how good the replica is or how it looks. Thay also made a Ferrari Daytona replica ...

My other thought was a Tomaszo SSK, but Tomaszo is Austrian, isn't it?

Susan Classic Cars?  They imported the SSK Torrelaro from Uruguay to Germany.  Probably during the 1990's.

The script on the side of the hood says "Monte Carlo 1930".  It is likely that the script on the radiator says "Torrelaro".

Ahhh.  Confirmation.  The last page I was reading about "Susan Classic Cars" of Germany, finally shows a picture of the puzzle car, D-KT 187, from the right front and left rear.

I think it is funny that a replica of a German car, with German engine and steel body, was imported to Germany from Uruguay.

The information I found, in image-form with German text, isn't translating well when I type it.  It looks as if Susan Classic Cars may have done final assembly of the cars in Germany.
