I think it says "Chimera La Paz" on the side of the bonnet. Is that right?

You´re right.

It says "Chivera la paz", which is the spanish name of the scrapyard. It is also written on the windscreen of the wreck at the right side...

But this is not the name of the machine... ;D

A wild guess: the 'S' in front could be related to Studebaker?

I've been searching and asking around about this car and about 'La Chivera La Paz'. The owner and (I guess) the builder of this car was called 'Salvatore'. No one remembered his last name, he was an italian inmigrant.

Very good, but still not correct.

His first name might have been Salvatore, but the name I have is italian and starts with an S, too.
And it could be both a first name as well as a family name!

So go for it!

LOCKED for you...

Sorry didn't tell. All that I've found out is that my brother in law bought a motor from this guy, but can't remember his last name (just the name Salvatore). This Chivera La Paz is located in a place called El Paraiso, Caracas, Venezuela.  But closed in the 70's or 80's (don't know exactly) because this zone is overpopulated and this kind of places used to resell parts from stolen cars.
I will still searching and asking my friends and family that live or lived there.

This picture was captured at the Chivera La Paz. The circle is the Iglesia Nuestra Sra. de la Coromoto
