What is this car and what event was it competing in?
Year, make and the man who drove it for a point.

Now that's an intriguing car.
It is a special, based on a Ford V8 of Colonel Alexandru Berlescu of Romania and built at an aircraft factory.
The picture was taken during the 1937 Rallye de Monte Carlo in which he participated.
It's as much fun to scare as to be scared

I believe the year was 1936
Anyway, the rest is correct and a point to you.
It's the only photo I have seen of this interesting car.
I believe it nearly won that year and that cars fitted with half-tracks and sleds were banned from future events.

Berlescu entered the car in the Monte Carlo Rallyes of 1935, 1936 and 1937 and became 14th in the last race due to penalties, probably because of the tracks. I have two or three more pics of the car and funnily one is very similar to the one above, clearly taken at the same place and day but that shows the car much better. Unfortunately I still haven't managed to upload pics here  :-[

My photo was downloaded from an old magazine and wasn't very clear.
I believe uploading pics is normally quite easy if you make sure the size is acceptable.
If you go to the help section I think this explains it clearly but if you are still having a problem I'm sure one of the admins would be very happy to help.
