Opel was thinking one time of adding a cheap brand Wartburg, like Dacia is for Renault. However, I only saw a photoshop version of the Insignia "V8" which was supposedly going to be marketed as a new Audi. Highly unlikely.

I saw the same article . My interpretation was right then...

But Opel did think of introducing a budget-brand. All gone now, with the GM-Saga going bankrupt or not...
