While she may have occasionally driven, her skills were usually deployed elsewhere.

If she was close to Don, the driver of the car pictured probably didn't know about it at the time.

Let's sum up what I know or guess. I can't find it, but it may help others.

- This lady was the wife of a drag racer. The picture was probably taken in the late sixties.
- The car is a front engine top fuel dragster with a dodge engine.

She's not Pat Garlits, but do

OK, upon further research it's not his wife. But they did spend a lot of time together. But as he was married, I'm sure it was a working relationship only.

That is indeed a Dodge powered dragster. It is slightly newer than the period you guessed.

Well, Dodge is written on the valve cover...
The batteries of my wireless keyboard died on me when I was starting to write this:

She's not Pat Garlits, but does this dragster have a Garlits chassis?

I believe the driver's own shop built this car. He was known for being quite a craftsman.
