The Jetcar is a two-seater microcar available currently only on the German market as diesel or electric version and with closed or open-top body layout. The idea behind the Jetcar is the construction of a light, aerodynamic vehicle to achieve low consumption figures. The current Jetcar 2.5 diesel has a combined fuel consumption of just 2.5 litres per 100 km/h.
Development of this model began in 1998, in 2000 a first prototype, the Jetcar 1, was ready to hit the road. Already the first prototypes were thought up as internal combustion as well as electric vehicles.
In 2003 the new Jetcar 2.5 was introduced, equipped with diesel and petrol engines. In 2009 an electric version was presented. This zero-emissions vehicle has a range of about 200 km and is available to order since 2010.
Overall production of the Jetcar is limited to 100 units.
