It looks very Bertone-like, but I think I´ve seen it once. And maybe this was british, but I can´t tell any more now...

Most probably - it's not uncommon for banger drivers to pay several thousand pounds for cars to race, hence why so many rare old cars have been destroyed on the track - no one would pay £5,000 for an Austin Westminster to drive, but a racer would. Most meets have a large cash prize for 'rarest car' so it's often worth it, which is why (amongst others) the XK150 and Allard ended up getting raced last year.

It's sad, but more often than not snotty owner's clubs refuse to pay more than scrap value for cars they are offered by racers and no one else can come up with the cash to save them - money talks!

False Alarm!

Turns out this was one of two unbuilt shells that were left over from the project. The single completed car still exists in it's original state  :)

Still wedge shaped, still twelve cylinder - still no success. Estaten was not used very much and was not too long ago sold at auction for less than £ 10,000"
