Did some research , is this the car ?  some interesting information below

I believe his 2nd speedster made its post resto debut at Pebble Beach 2011

Edsel Ford
1932 Speedster
Continental Series 1

-Designed by Edsel Ford and ET Bob Gregoire in 1932.

-Built at Ford's Aircraft building finished in the Lincoln plant.

-Sold by Edsel Ford in 1934 to Elmer Benzin.

-Sold by Elmer Benzin to a young GM designer who reportedly totaled it.

-Found in the mid 1940's in a junk yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and bought by John Cox. The fenders and various parts were missing. It's unknown how it found it's way to Connecticut.

-Modified by John Cox with 1935/36 Chevrolet fenders and Lincoln Zephyr 16" wheels and tires.Used by John for a period of time.

-Sold by John Cox to a mailman in southern Connecticut.

-Found there in 1984-85 and recognized by the finder as a car once owned by John Cox. Offered to and bought back by John and his son Bobby.

-When found, it had been modified even further with juice brakes, a later flathead, rear end and bucket seats. The front fenders, headlights snd other original parts were missing. For several years no one was aware of the cars origin.

- Because of it's uniqueness, Jim Gombos continued to express to his close friend John Cox his interest in the car. When John passed away a few years ago, his son Bobby sold it to Jim.

-Jim has owned the speedster for the past few years and has been collecting original 32 parts to aid in it restoration.

Very well done, and thanks for the detailed informations. Of course this is the car.
You say it's Edsel second speedster. Correct: the first one was based on a model T (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=13436.0). The third on a 1934 Ford (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=5496.0).
I found two period pictures (in what appears to be a Ford factory).
