Correct, but it was also known under another name. Which one?

I think you're referring to "The Goodyear Grabber"...........

Look at the grille. Isn't this really a 1970? The '69 grille did not dip down into the bumper. There were a few '69-'70 Olds for Garner.

Ray B.

Right. Let me make further researches.

All right. Here's the result. Tonyola is right. Below are is a pictures of Garner's 1969 and 1970 Oldses. You can see the difference in the grille and bumpers.
Then two pictures of the Banshee (MG Manic's answer), which was a 1969 Olds 442. It's written on the fender.
The puzzle car is the 1970 Goodyear Grabber. It's written on the door (see last picture). I had a hard time finding my way in this complicated story, and so apparently did MG Manic.

I hate to do this, MG Manic, but I have to follow Autopuzzles usual rule: the point goes to the puzzler who gives the complete answer if a first one only gave a partly correct answer. I have to substract you a point and give one to Tonyola. Sorry, my mistake. I gave it to you to quick. I'm sure that you will earn it back soon.

By the way, Tonyola is an expert now, since he earned his 20th point. No more rookie puzzles for him.

Iam Ron Johnson. I ow the James Garner 1970 Olds 442 race car known as the Goodyear Grabber Olds. I bought this car a few years ago and did a full restoration wikt peformance and safety upgrades we have raced it 2 times. There were 3 442 race cars built by Olds and Vic Hickey. My 442 is a 1970 body. Then there was the 1969 Pre Runner. Then the Banshee based on a 1969 body made of Fiberglass built be George Barris it was on a custom tube chassis. I hope this answers any more questions. Thanks Ron Johnson
