Nope, never seen it.

But, given some of the body lines, I'd guess this was a prototype for a GM model ... perhaps to mimic the Tucker?

*shrugs*

The Delta Fin Buicks had front and rear doorhandles at different height just like that car, and the weird frontal treatment could be a hint to the 1951 GM LeSabre dreamcar which also had two centrally positioned headlights. Buick introduced the LeSabre nameplate for 1959, so maybe this was a styling proposal for the 1959 Buick LeSabre, taking the name and styling cues from the 1951 car.

It's no Buick, but you're both on to something.

A Cadillac proposal for 1959?

Ray B.

Proposal for 1959, yes.
Not a Cadillac.

In 1959 it was whether Dynamic 88, Super 88 or just 98. When they worked on that proposal I guess they hadn't added the "Dynamic" yet.
Whatever, if you just made a typing error or just have it wrong, you'll be right in your next reply. It was a proposal for the 88.

This is a styling clay for the '59 Oldsmobile.
They had in fact already decided on one but then out came the '57 Chrysler and made their proposal look such old hat that they had to go straight back to the drawing board...

Argh!  Early bird gets the worm!  How about those headlights?  I can't believe this made it to Experts...it looks just like a '59 Oldsmobile with funny headlights!

Yes, bit of a blind alley that idea!
The car did make production largely unaltered, apart from that front!

To my chagrin, I see this is, in fact, a repost.  :bag:
