Solved: Allemano's № 702 - 1931 Moglia (Djelmo)
« on: October 21, 2011, 05:17:37 AM »
There's an old trail to this one on AP, long long ago.

It's not certain if this car was ever built, but what's it's name and who was involved? I need an app. year as well.
Apologize that bad picture.

Looks like a pre-1933 design for what would later be the Briggs Tjaarda Sterkenberg by John Tjaarda (?)

I'm afraid there's no connection.

The man behind that project came from Italy, but founded his company in another country.

That's almost right. E. Moglia was Italian, but founded his company at Suresness near Paris.
Do you know what this car was called? (it's a pun)

Locked for Wendax!

That's almost right. E. Moglia was from Italian origin, though and his company was at Suresness near Paris.

I think Moglia is correct. I had the name 'Djelmo' for this car, but that seems to be the name of the record motor of earlier times.

Point for Wendax, moved to solveds!

Thank you.

The Djelmo was a record car for Prince Djelaleddin built by Moglia.

According to my source the puzzle car was about to have the same engine as the Djelmo Record Car which was equipped with a V8 10,1 liter with 335 HP. It's not known if it was ever built.

Quite a large engine, but a straight-eight, not a V as seen here:
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

My 1931 source claims it had a 5 liter V8 engine:
