Solved -PJ372- Guépard RSR by Danny Gagné
« on: January 06, 2011, 09:10:34 AM »
For this one I need your help.
I saved these pics with no-name.
It shouldn't be too hard for you, and probably I know the country...(at least I presume it from what I saw in the background of 1 pic...)
1 point for this name and remember: I do not know the answer so a little proof will be appreciated.

Hm... Is it an original design (probably a one-off)?

It looks very much like a modified-for-the-road France Formula car, made by Magny-Cours-based PBM (powered by Ford, Kawasaki, etc.), etc.  I'm a long way from home at present so not in a position to double-check it, but I will do when I get back at the weekend; assuming it hasn't already been solved!

I believe it's not.

Few elements that I have seem to point in a different direction but, as I wrote from the beginning, I do not know the answer myself.

As I originally thought, this is one of the various France Formula 'Fun Boost' cars, most of which are made by PRM at Magny-Cours (not PBM as I originally wrote from memory).  As per the accompanying photo, this particular car is a Jema 630 GT, which is identical to your red car if you study the detail.  Your red car has been modified for road use, as a number of other Fun Boosts have been.  I can PM you a website link if you want more information.

These cars are quite different but I'm sure you are on the right path and it could be a 'fun boost' car.
I couldn't find this one...
I can lock it for you or add all the pics I have (with sponsors, names etc) and give all of you the opportunity to find it.
Your choice till your next reply.

The only difference I can see is that your red version is targa-topped, but otherwise they identical to me (the same front end, spoilers, side scoops, etc.).  Perhaps you can add your other photos as you suggest so that I can verify if this is a Jema, or another Fun Boost car.  Thanks.

OK, here you hare the other pics.
Open to all but if it will be proved that it's a Jema, it's Djetset point, of course.

I found the car in the web as the Guépard RSR, and  a Canadian called Danny Gagné from Montreal claims, that this car is his own design.

Thank you, now I found back my source.
You are right, I had it as a kit car built by Danny Gagné but "Guépard RSR" was the missing bit...thank you!
The engine is a Subaru unit.

As I suspected, the Guepard RSR prototype turns out to be a Fun Boost Jema 630 GT made in Quebec, but seemingly without an official licence or agreement so far, so this project may be very short lived.  Gagne has also planned a Porsche Boxster-powered version.  A friend in France tells me a news story on this appeared in Echappement magazine, so when he scans it in, I will upload here.
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.
