I will take a crack at it:
Year - 1959
Designer - Pete Brock
Nickname - Meister Brauser I
People around the car are Pete Brock and, I think Dick Troutman

Hint: Replace the first letter in the 2 names, of a famous Disney character; with an adjacent letter in the alphabet...and see where it takes you. ;)

I will not lock this puzzle. Bits & pieces here & there, my advice is to read the article completely...then give a complete & accurate answer. Tell me again, who is in & around the car??? Who is the designer??? What is the nickname of this car??? ;)

1959 Scarab nicknamed "Nickey Nouse".
The body designer was Chuck Pelly.
John Stephani, Jr. is in the car.
Left to Right: Ronnie Kaplan, mechanic, John Stephani Sr. president of Nickey are standing next to it.
