From HH?

From Hamburg it is less than 100 km to the Baltic Sea (fortunately for me, unfortunately for you ;) )

Worked through my list of German manufacturers now. Remarkable how many German car companies went bust in 1924.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any with those geographical parameters you've given.  :-\

There seem to be some differences in the date, depending on which source you rely. Georgano, for example, has a different date.

It's a Dörner, created by Dipl Ing Hermann Dörner with a V2 four-stroke schwerölmotor in 1923 - so this was one of the first diesel-powered passenger car in the world. According to Werner Oswald's book there were 24 cars built in Hannover

I would have guessed Dorner (only with 'o' according to my sources) as well but it' more than 200 km from Hannover to the Baltic Sea...

You are right, Pal, except for the 'ö'. It's Dorner indeed, as Allemano said. One point for you.

Sorry Allemano, you must have got my reply #18 wrong. I meant (and still understand it that way) that the town where this car was built is more than 100km away from the Baltic Sea.
