I believe the photo is from 1910. A few online references indicate the photo is from an earlier date, which you will see in incorrect, if you find it.

I've found this captioned as 'Lansing's Future Oldsmobile Owners' from Lansing Michigan.
I would imagine it is a factory sponsored outing.
