Solved: Wendax 002 - Voisin T.E.P.
« on: January 21, 2011, 08:09:33 AM »
Since my first puzzle car wasn't appreciated aesthetically, now for something completely different. Eye-charming elaborated design in combination with splendor and luxury.

For one point, please respond below and identify the make, the model, the year and the engine.

At that time Voisin was also developing the Biscooter which had a Villiers engine. Was this also the installed engine in this?

No, the Villiers engine probably would have been too weak for this car considering its purpose.

Well, I said "locked until the next reply", he had his chance. So it must be open for all.

Yes, the Voisin T.E.P. has a Panhard engine. Not too hard to figure out, when you have a 50's French bi-cylinder of 850 cc. Isn't it?

Bad luck, Amsterdam. The point goes to DeAutogids.

The actual car can be seen in the Manoir de l'Automobile in Lohéac in Brittany.

Actually, anybody who googled once the car name was known could have found it...
Wendax, I do thank you,  but am not too sure of how right it is to give me the point based on just providing the name of the engine manufacturer...

It is just a game, ok?

The rule is that the first one being able to complete the answer gets the point. Unfortunately, we don't have the possibility to give half a point or a quarter or 0.3 or ... If you reply to a puzzle, there are two risks: either you get a point or the other puzzlers get your knowledge. And if you feel unhappy about yourself having done only the last 10 percent of the puzzle work, you don't have to answer, you can send the other puzzler a PM containing the missing bit or ... you feel unhappy. But anyway, I think the fun at AutoPuzzles is mainly in diving through the dusty archives, in trying the most obscure search words in Google and in knowing that somewhere - not in outer space, but may be in another part of the world there is someone just having as much fun thinking about obscure and long forgotten cars as yourself. I'm sure this isn't the first and it won't be the last of such situations. And as the old verse goes: Sometimes you lose and sometimes the others win  :lmao:

And steeling a point where ever you can is just part of it. So if you do, do not feel sorry.  ;)

I second that.

IMHO the lock should be the exception rather than the rule.

Wendax, you've not been a member for very long, but not only have you amazed everyone else with your knowledge, but you've also totally summed up the beauty of this 'site in one paragraph!
It's not about the points, or proving you know more than anyone else, but knowing that you're not the only person in the world that knows what a 1957 XXXXX looks like!
