Solved - The Dick Cheney connection
« on: April 09, 2011, 09:08:59 AM »
In your opinion, what could be the connection between this car and this energetic young man. It's not a direct one, and it's car-related.

Very precise!
Bumper car is enough for the connection you're looking for. And the man... remember, I wrote it's an indirect connection.

The picture seems too old, but the guy looks just as if he'll grow up into Lee Marvin.

Those gloves suggest he was working with something dangerous - chrome plating chemicals, perhaps?

Speaking of pictures, I wrote that this was not a direct connection. The missing piece between those two is also a picture.

Money, somehow of course. Gold, not at all (I believe it's rust in the bumper-car picture).

It's a no to Oguerrerob suggestion. Scrap metal? Not as I know of. What is sure is that he had to protect his hands, and there are many jobs were it's a good thing.
This being an indirect connection means that you have to find something, or someone, in a third photo, related to both pictures.
Of course that would have been much easier if I hadn't cropped the photo of this young worker.

Here's No2 in all its original glory

An oil field hand in Texas posing in his late Model T Ford roadster. It is equipped with a rack on the back for carrying tooling. In the background is what appears to possibly be a pair of FWD trucks with oil field equipment on the back.

Halliburton owned FWD truck company, so I believe we have to follow that route. Does this make any sense?

Well done!
Halliburton makes sense, as far as this puzzle is concerned. FWD and trucks don't.

Lest a point be lost for not elaborating on the connection, Dick Cheney was chairman and CEO of Halliburton Company from 1995 to 2000.

Of course! I don't know if you followed the Halliburton track, or the bumper car track. If you did that, the picture was on page 8.

Now here is another scary beast in a bumper car for your enjoyment...
