Its an Avante kit car, a Mark I (made from 1981-1986).   The mark II had windows behind the doors.

I agree it looks like an Avante but that's not correct Rick.
Avante would have been too easy and probably a repost.

Yes, it is the Alto, a clone of the Avante but featuring a mid-engined Alfa chassis from Sandwood Automotive and offered by Peerhouse Cars based in Surrey in 1983. There was also a version based on a VW Beetle floorpan with a Golf engine. Owing to the hefty price compared to the Avante it was not a success and faded away in 1984 after a few cars were completed.
A revival was undertaken in 1988 by Cardo Engineering but that also failed.
