SOLVED - What car #549 - 1924 Simson Supra S Tourer
« on: January 01, 2009, 12:10:05 PM »
Although I'm not that good at solving this pre-war stuff, I'll have a go at posting some puzzles here in the new section. The risk is that what I think might be hard to guess might not be hard at all to you people who really know your pre-war cars. But let's give it a try!

Recognize this?

Please, respond below and let us know the make and model designation of the car posted here.

If you haven't registered yet, you need to do so in order to reply with your answer. You can do so by clicking here.

Also, please be sure to check out our other puzzles, and, please post a puzzle of your own if you'd like - the more, the merrier.  :D

I found some nice period pictures of a Simson Supra which appears to be of the same type.

There seems to be a spelling/nationality problem here.  According to Georgano, there was a British manufacturer named SimPson that was in existence from 1897 to 1904.  Then there was a German company named Simson (no "P" in the name) that ran from 1911 to 1932.

The photos Wendax posted have the name Simson.  Otto gave the name Simson, yet the subject uses Simpson.

Just trying to muddy the waters,

Yes, the "p" is definitely wrong there.

PJ did.  It was right after your post.

And the subject title is still wrong.
