The larger of the two monowheels is the Dynashere Monowheel from around 1932....ish.  Designed and built by Dr J A Purves.  It was powered by a 2.5hp electric motor.  The builder was based in Somerset and did numerous trials on local beaches.  Unfortunately sand was not the ideal surface and did the project no favours at all.

No idea what the smaller of the two was called.
