Solved -PJ364 - Dick Powell in a 1936 Aerocycle
« on: January 05, 2011, 04:20:08 PM »
3 points for this 3-wheeler:

1- The name of this vehicle (quite easy)
2- The name of the driver (he is not the builder)
3- the name of the company (I don't know it)

According to my source, this vehicle tried to be a production car. Its promoters were looking for publicity giving samples to different XXXX in 19YY.

Given the fact that William Powell starred in 47 movies (according to wikipedia) it's not about him...but I confirm you are very close.
(I can't be more specific without giving the answer away...)

Is the puzzle vehicle pedal-powered or electric? I've found a very similar machine, purely pedal-powered, and it doesn't have that box hanging under the middle, that looks like it could be a battery. Also the steering mechanism is a bit different.

Unfortunately the article doesn't give a name for the machine, or any clue to its origin, but it does look to be closely related to the puzzle one.

the name of this vehicle (clue, clue) suggests a pedal-powered vehicle BUT the article defines it as a go-kart and Mr Powell is looking at the chain....
