Solved - MJW #329 - Stapp Jupiter 1932
« Reply #4 on: March 14, 2011, 08:52:27 AM »
What's the story behind this machine?
Who built it, when and for what reason?
For the point a full and complete answer is necessary.

Yes, you have the correct car.
The name Strapp is mis-spelt (probably taken from inaccurate information of your source)
Can you provide the correct spelling and also what engine(s) were used?
LOCKED for you until your next reply.

I've done a mistake: this "car" (probably named Jupiter) was built by Renč Stapp, a French racing driver who puts into his creature two Bristol Jupiter radial aero engines.

Correct Thorax - Rene Stapp was the name I was looking for.
One point for you.

I had no idea this was a repost.
Can someone merge it please.......

Just to add a little to the story - apparently the car was destroyed by fire at La Baule in the mid-1930s.

What is strange is the fact that the Duesenberg Model SJ Mormon METEOR Speedster was driven by Ab Jenkins and Babe STAPP in 1935.
Pure coincidence, I´m sure.
