From a German speaking country?
Yes

It is a Miersch-Porsche, built in the early fifties in eastern Germany for the shoe manufacturer Hans Miersch. Three cars were built using prewar Volkswagen chassis. Two cars are known to exist, the restored white one and the unrestored yellow one. Some development work was done at Dresden university.
-
Wow! Never heard of this one before.
-
Yes, that's what it is. Well done Wendax!
I might have some more pics of it on my computer at work which I'll post tomorrow.
-
Why do you call it a Porsche. It doesnt have a Porsche chassis.
Because it is prewar I would call it a KdF-wagen rebodied by Miersch or eventually a KdF Porsche replica by Miersch
-
It's not my choice what it's called, it seems to be what it is generally known as. I doubt whether it had an official name. In fact I didn't know they were all based on pre-war VW chassis.
It has a Porsche 356 engine and don't forget the 356 was developed from the VW in the first place. I don't think it's entirely misleading to call it a Miersch Porsche as it looks rather like a 356 and it has a Porsche engine.
Here are the promised more pictures:
-
I'm rather sure that the blue one is not a Miersch, but another East German Porsche lookalike. The body is quite different to the Miersch. The chassis is from a 1944 VW Kübelwagen, chassis number 2-048504. The car was registered for road use at August 17, 1957. The body is a steel body on a wooden frame, the engine is a VW 30hp. The car was recently for sale in Stendal, Germany.
-
I see what you mean.
It was described as such on a German website so I believed it..
I did notice it was substantially different from the puzzle car, but I thought since no 2 such cars are alike it must have been an earlier version...!
-
And two period pictures of the Miersch Porsche:
-
When the white Miersch-Porsche was for sale on ebay in 2008, it was accompagnied by an old bill of the coachbuilder. It was Arno Lindner from Mohorn in Saxony.
-
There is a new site online about the first "Porsche" built by Lindner for Knut and Falk Reimann in 1953/1954. The site is made by the Reimann twins. So there are loads of period pictures, of which I have attached one. According to that site Lindner built 14 of those Porsche copies on VW chassis. If you want to have a look at those pictures, just google "Porsche-Eigenbauwagen 1954 in Dresden".

v-e-r-y nice!

The unrestored one in older photos:
-
I've just read the book about the Lindner Coupé. The pictured cars in this post are:
- the first Lindner Coupé built for the Reimann brothers in reply #24,
- the third Lindner Coupé built for Hans Miersch in the initial post and in reply #22 and the white one in reply #15,
- the fourth Lindner Coupé built for Arno Lindner himself in reply #26 and the yellow/black one in replies #15 and #19.
