It is a prototype realized by the VNIITE on the ZAZ "966" engine: the "KD" coupè , designed by E. Molchianov in the 1969. It has a fiberglass coackwork reinforced with polyester, fixed on a longeron frame. The weight was only 500 kg, allowing to the 30 hp of the engine to reach the 120 km/h.

You are correct, although I have to say I'm somewhat miffed at the ease with which you've solved this one.

Although by no means an unknown car it is very rare indeed and this is not the usual view of it which is seen.  But you knew instantly what it was from this unusual angle!

I know it can easily be found using Google Image Search but you give me your word that you knew this car and didn't need to enlist the help of GIS?

I really don't know how it works what you described. I read that you ask "don't use GIS" but I hope that you believe when I say that I don't know how it works. I am not a computernerd and these things are too new for me.
I was surfing on internet this week and I saw this picture. I  like small firms and strange cars and I saves it.n That is the reason that I regonized this picture.

That's fine - as long as GIS didn't lead to the answer.  It's actually a very clever tool and is very useful when setting puzzles, but makes it way too easy to find the answer if it's used, which ruins the game not just for the poster but for the puzzler too; there's no satisfaction whatsoever in solving a puzzle that way.

If you don't now how it works I'm not going to tell you!

I'll add a bit more info and move the puzzle to Solved tomorrow.

I can't add a lot more, except that these cars were in production between about 1963 and 1969 and 5, 6 or 7 were made - it's not clear how many!

(Although that lead car in your picture could well be the furthest right one in mine).

I wouldn't call 5-7 cars 'series' production!
But they were produced/made, call it what you will..

I suggest to add the base car to the title. "KD Coupe" is not that distinctive.
