Since my original puzzle NEH 1327 appeared already as one of barrett's Headscratchers I've changed the picture completely and the puzzle is now NEH 1334, which I hope hasn't appeared on AP before..

I'm not having much luck with this puzzle.
It turns out my 1334 was also a repost, this time of the Citroen CDW Special Cabriolet, bodied by Deryck Waters, UK in 1949 but destroyed in the same year.

Third time lucky then; now this puzzle is no. 1330 and let's see if it's an original this time!

The headlights (with tiny repeaters) suggest a Buckler, (which could be fitted with of a number of engines 2 liters or smaller) but it's too tall, and those holes in the rockers make me think that's wrong.

You're right - it's that Buckler DD2! 
Maybe it only had the holes on one side..

So I've given Otto a point for getting the Buckler name and posting a photo of the right car, and Allemano a point for getting the DD2 model name posting some more photos!

Sorry woodinsight, if I'd had the chance to log on earlier today you might have been able to make some progress with the reply I'd have given, but I'm afraid you've been trumped!

The car is currently in Japan.
