If by real you mean James May, then no it isn't! I do go by this username on more forums than I care to remember though, so if you've come across C.S. on another forum it was probably me.

Yes, that's what it is.
The 180 had only come out in the UK in 1970, but it didn't get a great reception so they quickly got on with a re-think.  Unfortunately they didn't see it through and soldiered on with it until someone had the bright idea to introduce the equally disastrous Talbot Tagora..
What would have happened had they introduced this much better looking car will of course never be known; probably not a lot different if the truth be known.  At that time big cars from the volume makers were already beginning to lose out to the (mainly) German execs..

I don't think this would've made too much difference, the 180 series was a failure partly because its looks dated so quickly, and I don't see this proposal as much more modern. Now if they'd launched the much more modern, handsome Tagora a few years earlier..... well, that probably wouldn't have done much either - this company was doomed! But at least there might be a few more Tagoras floating about today...
