For 1 point - what's this car, who did it and what's its full designation?

Aston Martin is the easy bit!
Unfortunately no points for that though, so you need to keep digging as it's not by Zagato.

Not by Touring, no.
They were of course responsible for the standard car.

Was this called the DB4 GT SS? I have an old advert for it somewhere but I'm not sure it specifies the coachbuilder, and I'm not searching now, I only just got home!

You're on the right track there; it's not SS but similar.
Still need the coachbuilder though - that's the crux of the puzzle!

Ah, the SS bit just means it has one of the Aston SS engines. Still no luck on who built the body though. Was it an Italian firm?

The SS bit isn't right; it's 2 letters, but one of them isn't an 'S'!
Yes, it's Italian-bodied (or Italian modified I think would be more accurate).

After some searching I still haven't come up with the name of the company/individual that modified the front of the car. I'll continue the search.....
In the meantime here is another view taken a long time ago. It looks as though the car may have been registered in Zurich, Switzerland then?

Not entirely convinced the modificiation is an improvement...!
In your picture it is, as you say, a Zurich registration, although it's a bit short.  Does that mean it's a trade plate?
The obscured plate in my puzzle photo is actually a Dutch registration.

Downright ugly if you ask me!
I wonder whether the modification was done after the car had frontal damage.
Not sure about Swiss registrations/trade plates....

Is it a Shapecraft modification?
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.
