Jensen PW with Austin 4-litre straight six replacing the planned Meadows engine, which had vibration problems.  Year was 1946, hence the name Post-War = PW

Your car would be a rather later example of the make you refer to I'd say. ;D

That's about the long and the short of it, yes.
Apparently some were also fitted with 4.2 litle Nash engines, but did see one For Sale with its original Meadow straight 8.
