This car has been posted before but never in this form.
One point will be awarded to whoever can identify the make and engine used.
An extra point if you can identify the driver, event and year.

Rusty memory says that Dick Shattock's Jaguar-engined RGS-Atalanta looked rather like that when I saw him racing it in about 1959/60 but I can't find a photo to back it up.

Yes, I'm almost certain the puzzle car has an RGS-Atalanta body fitted, just one of several different bodies and engines it has been fitted with during its existence.
I'm considering writing a feature for AP on these cars after it has been solved.

That's the one that been pebble beached in the USofA recently I think.
I have no recollection of the fins that that car and some others have being on Shattock's car when I saw it, and I'm sure the production RGS bodies did not have them as standard.

So to sum up, the puzzle car is Jaguar-engined, has an RGS Atalanta body and is being driven by a well-known (sadly deceased) driver......

Well he looks like Archie Scott Brown, and, although we normally associate him with Brian Lister's Lister cars, before that he did drive a Tojeiro owned by Brian Lister so perhaps it had an RGS body and this is it.
PS Shattock made RGS bodies; it was only when they were on his Atalanta-based chassis that the RGS-Atalanta name was used.

My mistake, of course it is an R.G.S. body.....
The car is not a Tojeiro or a Lister. The make is a very well-known one (as far as the public are concerned).
As I mentioned earlier this car has appeared in many different forms but this is the only photo I've seen of it wearing an RGS body. The Jaguar engine is not the original either.

It is Archie Scott-Brown - can you guess the event or circuit and the year for a point?
Another point is available if you can come up with the base car.

I have seen it described as an Aston-Jaguar and as an Aston Martin - Jaguar but know nothing about the car.
