Moving back to cars again - can you name the make and coachbuilder of this smart saloon?

Jaguar 3 1/2 litre Saloon by Mulliners of Birmingham. I think it was made for Sir John Black as a present to his wife, but the quality of the chassis was a bit of a let down, and a second Rolls Royce was ordered..

He became chairman of Standard-Triumph in 1953 but was injured in an accident whilst a passenger in a Swallow Doretti that was being demonstrated to him.
The accident apparently affected his judgement and he was forced to resign in January 1954.
He died at the age of 70 on 24 December 1965.

Captain Black was General Manager of the Standard Motor Co. from 1933 (aged 38!) and responsible for turning the company round. Can't remember if he had other responsibilities pre-war, but he "had a good war" operating a couple of shadow factories which got him his K. Post-war when he bought Triumph he was Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Standard and as you say became Chairman of the joint company with Alick Dick as General Manager.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong
