For one point - what was this car named, what running gear did it use, what make of engine was fitted and what year was it built?

Not Austin-Healey but it is a totally UK car - running gear and engine are different though

Sunbeam?
Not Sunbeam.
Running gear and engine are probably deemed to be from more sporting makes.

From memory I think this is called the Guy Special, possibly built by E.J Guy?

You have a good memory!
It is the Guy Special.
To complete it can you name the running gear the car was based on and the approximate year?
Locked for you.....

I think it was 1958. I'm hazy on the running gear, but I'd guess it was TR2?

Edit: I just looked it up, it's based on a TR3 powered Morgan +4

Exactly!
It was built by Charles Robinson for a Mr. E.J. Guy in 1958.
Triumph TR3 engine with Morgan +4 running gear.

Not a bad looking effort at all!
I guessed Sunbeam just because those look like Sunbeam Rapier hub-caps (and there's a couple of Rootes cars in the background too..!)

Unfortunately it's the only photo I have come across but I agree it looks very professional for 1958.
I wonder where the windscreen was sourced from?
Probably a rear window?

At a guess the window is probably from an 'Audax' Minx?

I think this is a great looking car and I'd love to see more of it, but I doubt many more photos exist, if any. Ditto, it would be great if it survived but I doubt that too!

Corvette?  Looks just like the one in Otto's Fun #57
Or maybe a Lancia Aurelia Spyder?  Looks very similar..
