Augustus Cesare Bertelli ('Bert' to his friends and 'Gus' to his famiy) was technical director of Aston Martin between 1926 and 1938. He also raced the cars as in Otto's reply.
'Bert' Bertelli was also responsible for the design of the 1921 Enfield-Allday, the puzzle car, and his brother Enrico ('Harry') designed the coachwork.
That should explain the various links.
