Solved - MJW #505 - AC Flat-Four Prototype 1958
« on: June 25, 2011, 02:19:16 PM »
Unfortunately the image is not very clear (I have a better frontal view but that might give the game away)
What is the make, what type of engine was used, the year and the name of the designer is required.

It looks like a 2-door Bristol 405.

It is an AC prototype from 1955, using a flat-four engine on a lenghtened Aceca chassis... Perhaps this car has a specific name, but I don't know it...

You are correct Franck, the car was known as an AC Flat-Four prototype.
I have the date as a few years later and do you know the name of the designer?
Locked for you.

No reply from Franck so it's open to all again.
I still need the designer and the year for a point.
Also moving it up to the Pros...

Zdzislaw Marczewski (but I think he was only responsible for the engine design)

That was the name I was looking for.
My source says the designer was Z. Marczewski without referring specifically to the engine and I'm sure you are correct.
Another point for you.
I'm also going to award a point to Franck.Kegelart as he guessed the car correctly first even though the year was wrong.
(I'm feeling generous again this Friday!)
