Since there are only 2 seats, I think this could be a Moss Roadster (1983). The 2+2 was called Moss Malvern ...

Well you are correct in a way.
This, although it appears to be a two-seater, does actually have two child seats as well.
Therefore as you said this was the Moss Malvern, made from 1983. The date of the puzzle car is 1990.
So, another point for you.
