Just when you thought I'm posting fairly heavy puzzles here are three that should lighten your day!
Here we have a clip from a film - what is the name of the film, the year, the actress at the wheel and of course the car.

A clue for this one - the film is German but the actress in the driver's seat is not......

Neither Zarah Leander or Louise Brooks.
As it was a German film the actress probably spoke good German although she came from another country quite close by.

Lilian Harvey owned one of these, but I guess you've meant the lady in question is from a neighbour country of Germany

Asta Nielsen, Jenny Jugo, Pola Negri or Lilian Harvey are all negative.
I guess the lady in question may be answered by one of my early rising AutoPuzzler colleagues here in Europe who always seems to be awake when I get up at 0500! (that might also be a clue)

That's correct - four letters, then 'de', then four letters

That was a nice way to lead me in the wrong direction.  ;)
I guess it was not intended, but in Germany the actress has a five letter Christian name followed by a "von" instead of a "de".

The movie we are looking for is "Einmal eine große Dame sein" by Gerhard Lamprecht from 1934. The actress is Käthe von Nagy, born in Austria-Hungary as Ekaterina Nagy von Cziser, also called Katé Nagy or Katé de Nagy. The car is, as already mentioned, a Mercedes-Benz SS from 1933. In the movie Käthe von Nagy plays a car saleswoman pretending to be a countess. She meets a real barron (played by Wolf Albach-Retty, to the right of her in front of the car), whom she thinks to be a mechanic. Finally they marry.

I checked. She was born in Subotica (Szabadka). "Katé" as a name doesn't exist in Hungarian. She was born as Kató (a shortened version of Katalin)

You are quite correct and thank you for your full reply.
I am aware of the differences in the German "von" and the French "de" nomenclature - it was unintended as I merely took the information from the caption to the photograph (see below)
