My first puzzle of 2011 -

This proposed design was never built but I'd like to know what it was called, which company proposed it, when and what chassis was it to be based on?

One point for the full and correct answer.

well it would appear to be RHD and some really fancy linkage had to be installed in order to get that working where they proposed the steering wheel to be mounted.

As always I will guess that it was to be built on a Jaguar XKE chassis.  :P
it was to be called the iWerksmobile and was proposed by Walt Disney to be used by one of their animators named Ub Iwerks to shuttle him around so he could draw while on vacation in the UK.

Here is a drawing of the proposed interior - not that it will be of any help.......
I can also add that it is British as had already been suggested.

Let me explain a little bit more with a couple of clues -
This proposal was offered by a well-established British caravan manufacturer for mounting on a xxxxxx chassis powered by a xxxx engine.
The chassis was that of a car somewhat larger and more luxurious than a Morris

Not Humber - more exotic and less well known
I'll give the point for the make of car chassis and make of engine the vehicle was designed for.
The caravan maker may be too difficult.......

Yes- you've got it - well done.

The 'Phantom Lounge Car' as it was called was claimed to offer sports saloon performance with luxurious caravan facilities in the launch brochure of October 1938.
The Phantom was offered by Coventry Steel Caravans, an innovative manufacturer financially supported by William Walmsley, William Lyons's former partner at Jaguar.
It was to be assembled on a Jensen 3.5 litre chassis powered by an alloy-head Ford V8 engine and the four-berth accommodation was to be furnished in french-polished oak.
Sadly not a single example was built.
