Ice 1 Les glaces Ruiz sur la place de Cambrai Calais, French coast of Canal de La Mancha (English Channel)  related to  Ice F - The Bleriot voiturette, because Louis Bleriot crossed this Channel July 25, 1909

Ice 1 - Blériot-Plage - Calais,and Ice F - Bleriot Voiturette?
Ice 1 - Ice F is the connection, but Ice 1 is not at Bleriot Plage

Getting warmer, it is not the Channel, but Cambrai could do.

Yes, this ice cream van of Glaces Ruiz is located on the northeastern corner of Place Aristide Briand all summer long. I have been seeing it there for ten years. But what is the connection to the Bleriot voiturette?

It is the right pairing, but not the right reason. Remember the theme of this puzzle!

Ice 8 : Glaces Martinez with Ice E : Enyoii Concept Car made by Gerardo Martinez.
That's right.

Yes, in the unaltered picture of the VW Eiswagen you can read on the door that it is from Mol. Well spotted!

Ice 7 : HMS Flake 99, named for an ice cream treat and commissioned by Cadbury to celebrate Britain’s National Ice Cream Week with Ice B : Tempo Viking.Tempo is a chocolate bar produced by Cadbury South Africa.
This is the right pairing, but I have a different connection, even a little bit more obscure than yours, but your answer would have made a nice reason, too.

Hey, I thought that was a hard one. You are absolutely right. Both cars were photographed at the same premises, just some 80 years (or so) apart. The Deutsches Technikmuseum in Berlin is located at Trebbiner Straße 5 and uses the old office building of the "Gesellschaft für Markt-und Kühlhallen". The Rumpler was photographed in the old inner courtyard, now covered with a glass roof. BTW, this building has an interesting staircase which could be used by horses, as the stables were in the upper floors.

That was another tough one. It is almost solved, just one little detail missing. Have a closer look at those two Matchbox cars.  ;)

Ok,Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister, probably be best remembered for her contribution to the ice cream industry!  ;D

"One important development in the 20th century was the introduction of soft ice cream (like Mr Whippy uses!). A chemical research team in Britain (of which a young Margaret Thatcher was a member) discovered a method of doubling the amount of air in ice cream, which allowed manufacturers to use less of the actual ingredients, thereby reducing costs."
