The body of this car was made of Elektron a copyrighted magnesium alloy. The high performance 1500 cc engine was constructed by Karl Ludwig Brandt and was intended for future Borgward production cars. The 16V DOHC motor was equipped with a Bosch direct injection. It developed about 150-160 HP. Three racing cars were built for racing with Hans Herrmann, Giulio Cabianca, Jo Bonnier, Fritz Jüttner und Eberhard Mahle at the wheel. In 1957 Hans Herrmann finished second place at the European hillclimb championships. In 1958 he won the air field race of Aspern.
After Borgward went bankrupt the car got in private hands and it still is today.
