Well, I can't pass up on a clue as generous as that. ;D

Artists K are The Four Teens (geddit?), and Song 2 is their 1958 single "Spark Plug".

I don't know why I didn't think of that before, but in the picture the spark is a long way from the plug, and that sent me in other directions. You'd be amazed how many songs there are with "internal combustion" in the lyrics..... :-\

Seven down, seven to go.

There are some other very generous clues still sitting within this puzzle.

You are half-half-right. And Chuck is not in this puzzle ;)

So if it's not Chuck, which remaining half is correct?

8) One artist is a famous ax man.

 8) One artist is named for an outlaw.

 8) One artist was once wed to a person who later became an outlaw.

 8) At least two artists share their names with automobiles, and one of those automobiles is the subject of one of the songs.

Artist D is one of many to record a version of this song. Which song? You don't have to go far, to find the answer.

THE ANSWER IS WITHIN AUTOPUZZLES.

Phil, the seeing eye dog, and former package in-
spector, is here to help

OK, the clues filter through - but slowly!

Artist D is Ronnie Spector, one-time wife of Phil (Spector, that is, not Phil the dog). ;D

And I guess the song which many others have recorded, and which appears in Autopuzzles, must be the Beach Boys' Don't Worry Baby (Brian Wilson/Roger Christian). I gather that the lyrics make oblique reference to drag racing, so I'm guessing that Song 13 is the picture to link with it.

I don't think I've ever been as generous with clues for one song... :P

It's Ronnie alright, who at the time of this recording, was the ex-wife of evil genius Phil Spector, who was later convicted of murder (future outlaw clue), the dirty dog.

8) One artist was once wed to a person who later became an outlaw.

Here's Ronnie again. Dang, she was cute back in the day.

I'm glad to see my clues are paying off!  :D

Technically, it's the Theme From Route 66, not to be confused with the oft-covered Route 66 by Bobby Troupe.

"Theme alright". I should have been more precise.
I must say that your numerous clues (especially in group puzzle) usually give me a headache in the end. Fortunately I found an old one that was crystal clear.
Now where does Churchill fits (or all the other clues about #E) that's another story.

More clues:

Artist C: In spite of their collective name, not harbingers of impending doom.

Artist J: Take a big apple, add some cajun spice, and bring it to a boil near LA

Artist L:  _ _ L L _    _ _ _    _ _ _    _ _ _ _ _ _ _

So, the artist named for an outlaw will be L, Billy "The Kid" Emerson.

I'm not too sure about the song, but how about Song 3, Every Woman I Know (Crazy 'Bout Automobiles)?

The artists are right; the songs you've matched them with are not. Nadine is one of the songs, but not the Johnny Rivers cover.

How does Oguerrerob find these thing? :applause:

Anyway, I think the song to go with The Banshees (C) would be the flip side of "They prefer blondes", which is "Take a ride with me", and I think it matches with the Song 12 picture.

Other places don't mean a thing to me
'Cause I know a place where life is free,
So grab your little suitcase,
C'mon and take a ride with me.

Chuck Berry's song Nadine was covered by the A-Cads (Artists M) in 1966. That would match with the Song 14 picture.

I saw her from the corner when she turned and doubled back
And started walkin' toward a coffee colored Cadillac.

Right! You know well that more than ID'ing the artist's image is required to solve these. Click the link to hear this song.

I'm not too sure about this, but is the song to go with Johnny Rivers (Artist J) "Six days on the Road", which he covered in 1974?

The "ultimate overworked rig driver's lament", I thought it might link with Song Picture 8, the highway at night.

My hometown's coming in sight,
If you think I'm happy you're right,
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight.
